Slow Recovery + Blogs

This is just to let you know that I'm finally getting the blog back together. There was no way of rescuing the lost code, though Jim Pryor did helpfully show me how to get a snapshot of how the site used to look so that I could re-build it on that basis. There's still lots to be re-written, but if you spot any errors in the meantime just let me know.

On another matter, check out Adam Carter's new virtue epistemology blog here. I was sad to hear that Fake Barn County is now no more, but it's good to know that as one blog dies, another rises up to take its place! (Incidentally, Guy Axtell informs me that he'll soon be setting-up a virtue blog as well, so watch out for that).

Help (Part II)!

As you can see, the panic is partially over, since I've found a way of getting some of the basic code back. I still need to resurrect all the data lost though, which won't be easy without being able to see what was there (and will take ages). Does anyone know if there's way of viewing what your site used to look like (perhaps there's a cached file of it somewhere that you can look at)? Still, this will prompt me to make some changes to the site that I've been meaning to make, so I guess it's not such a bad thing all things considered (and I'll know to keep copies of the template in future!).

Help!

As you may have already spotted, I'm experiencing a few problems with the blog. Somehow or other I've managed to delete half of the data in the template without realising it (lord knows how this happened). If anyone knows how to recover lost data from the template then I've be *very* grateful to hear it. Hopefully, normal service will resume soon (though this may mean me re-writing all the lost data from scratch ... groan!).

Stirling Conference on Social Epistemology

The line-up for the Stirling conference on Social Epistemology which will be held August 31st-September 2nd next year is now shaping up. I've started working up a webpage for the event here. Speakers so far include Goldman, Sosa, both of the Frickers (i.e., Miranda and Lizzie), Sturgeon, and Goldberg.

Ahlstrom on Epistemic Value

I've just been sent this interesting looking paper on epistemic value by Kristoffer Ahlstrom. I've posted it on the 'drafts' side-bar below, but you can also download it by clicking here.
