Epistemology PhD at Geneva

Just got the heads-up on this new epistemology PhD post from Anne Meylan in Geneva:

The Episteme Research Group at the University of Geneva http://www.unige.ch/lettres/philo/episteme/ anticipates the opening of a 3-year PhD position in analytic epistemology (pending confirmation of funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation).

Starting date: March 1st, 2011.

Candidates intending to write a PhD under the supervision of Pascal Engel on one of the following topics:
-evidence and justification;
-bayesianism;
-probabilistic and formal epistemology;
-epistemic norms and epistemic values:
-knowledge, action and assertion.

The Philosophy Department at the University of Geneva http://www.unige.ch/lettres/philo/#presentation is one of the most active in continental Europe and has secured competitive funding for a number of research programs in recent years. The successful candidate will join the Episteme research group, one of the most dynamic research groups on analytic epistemology in Europe, and the "Pro*Doc: Mind and Reality", a postgraduate program in philosophy, taught in English and organized in collaboration with the Universities of Lausanne and Fribourg. http://www.philosophie.ch/prodoc-romand/pr_home.php

The salary will range from 40,000 CHF (first year) to 46,000 CHF (third year).

Fluency in French is not a requirement.
